Well I haven’t had the opportunity to blog in several months
with life taking a toll on my time and health yet I found that there is no
better time than now to dive back in. So
here goes…..I sit here reflecting on this day as this is the last day of the
school year for my daughters and I find it to be an emotional day yet I am
trying to count it all JOY.
See I am very internet active (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter,
Web Searching….whatever lol) and I have read several comments that many parents
find it ridiculous to have so many graduations for young children. For example many preschools have a graduation
from VPK, then they graduate from Kindergarten, from elementary school (from 5th
grade), from middle school (8th grade), then high school
graduation. To an adult that has accomplished
each of these steps these may seem to be minor accomplishments and you may
not understand why these are celebratory events yet to a child that has only had
the opportunity to accomplish preschool this is a HUGE accomplishment. Do we celebrate birthdays in grand fashion
to avoid celebrating the next one? Each
year of completion is to be celebrated and I find it robbery to not do just
that.
When we make statements or have feelings based on our own
accomplishments it may have a selfish motive.
We as adults choose many times not to put ourselves in the shoes of that
small child that have completed elementary school. I find it robbery not to celebrate today’s
accomplishment because you are expecting tomorrow’s accomplishment. I have seen parents bury their children prior
to fulfilling all the goals they had for them yet knowing they had in a short
time completed the work of God while here on earth. I have a child myself that gives everything that
she has to succeed at all that is placed before her although many times she has to work twice as hard to do so. I would not rob her of the opportunity of
celebrating each and every accomplishment she achieves. It is important that we don’t see a child’s
life through an adult eye.
I thank God for each time I am blessed and his mercy is
fallen upon me. I do not expect this to
be the completion of the task set before me as a child of God and I understand
that I have more mountains to climb to continue to better myself. As you thank God for the small blessings he bestows
upon your life remember small accomplishments are the steps that form the
staircase of the life accomplishments.
Until Next Time.
