Just imagine your hunny waking you in a panic as the entire
house had overslept about 45 minutes.
Don’t think 45 minutes is much……oh you have never experienced a morning
with the Aliyy’s. Oh goodness; Jamir
doesn’t have any clean underwear. I went
into a true panic at this point. Of
course you can’t wash any when you are already late so what’s the next best
thing? Put him on a pair of his twin’s undies
that’s one size smaller than his. Get
shirts ironed and by chance or an act of God open the dryer to discover this
child has two pair in the dryer. Thank
you God….I knew you loved me. So the
girls are dressed grabbed a breakfast snack and daddy got them out and headed
to school. Now leaving me solo with two
year old twins and I’m in need of a shower.
What exactly does it mean when you say; sit right here boys and watch TV
while mommy takes a quick shower. It means the following:
1. Take the
shoe laces out of your shoes
2. Pull every
noisy toy you are able to out of the toy box in the room and put them on the
floor in the main living area
3. Raid the
snack cabinet because surely our breakfast wasn’t enough
4. Attempt to
finish big sister’s school project to be finished this afternoon because of
course she and mommy aren’t able to do it alone
5. Wrestle and
may the sleepiest little guy cry first
So out the shower mommy has to clean up the living area because
I can’t dare leave the house looking like I’ve been robbed. Now to get my hair curled and complete the 15
minute process of getting the twins to potty, shoes on and jackets on. Re-lace the shoes now while twins finishing
up on the potty only for Jamir to emerge completely naked. Oh no….now I have to redress a baby boy. The moment a mommy has to walk away to take a
deep breath to avoid over-reacting. Go outside
to warm up the van!! Lol
Out the door we go and now our 45 minutes of too much sleep
has set us an hour and a half behind schedule.
Tsss….Tsss….Tsss But we enjoyed
our drive as we always do; having my special moment with my baby boys looking
for every tractor, motorcycle, semi-truck, dump truck and ambulance that you
may past on the road. I love these
moments even when I’m super late and I’m proud of myself for not over-reacting
this morning. Lesson for the day: If I
would have yelled or called my hubby crying (my normal reactions) it would not
have changed my situation nor slowed down the clock so I maintained my pressure
and basked in the moment. I’m seeing my
parental and emotional growth….it feels so good!!
Until next time.
