Marital Commitment....

Being a woman from a close family it was a difficult task for me to learn the correct way to follow the word of God and cling to my husband without turning my back on my friends and family.  This has posed to difficult to many women and men as I've heard many immature statements such as; "don't put your woman before your boys" or "woman code of honor....friends will always be there".  But in all reality this is not biblical and I have over time had to change my stance.  I'm committed to not only my husband but also to God with my marriage in order to prosper.  The word reads;  And unto the married I command (yet not I, but the Lord): let not the wife depart from her husband (1Corinthians 7:10).  Through this growth and knowledge I'm being sure to communicate with my husband openly and with love.  I will not allow another to separate me from him as it is a commitment I have made before God and witnesses that we are not just dating any longer bu...

....Blind Faith

As I have not posted yet this year I thought it was about time for me to update my blog on my year thus far although it has been a difficult one.  In the last 47 days I have gone through a lot of trials within my little (yet large) family yet today is the first day that I had clarity on how hard I'm really taking it.  As a mother you go through your daily routines and get things done in order to maintain normalcy for your children and you think of your emotional self later.  Well here I am almost 50 days later finally thinking of my emotional self. I sit here and I remember watching videos and discussing them with my co-workers (my what I have named them....'Aces') about parents that teach their babies to learn to swim by placing them in the water and allowing them to learn to self rescue.  The babies within weeks learned to flip onto their backs and float to safety.  Although, this was a terrifying event to watch as a parent I totally understood the logic beh...

And it has happened.....'Dirty 30' and Maya meet

Sorry......was a little behind on my blogging so I missed my birthday blog so I must add this in with tonight's blog. So I have officially reached another decade of my life.  I had a list of goals that were set to be completed prior to meeting '30' and some I've completed but some I'm still working on.  I have finally become content with where I am as I continue to make changes.....I'm content with who I have in my life.......and also with the direction my life is headed with God's grace.  WOW I've met this '30' with PEACE and love and the love of my life did a great job organizing a nice intimate gathering for me and some great mommy uplifting gifts.  So much greatness!!!  NOTE: Superman added to my playlist.....I've officially found mine.  HELLO '30' I'm Maya and it's nice to meet you!!

Growing in Wisdom.....

You know I've learned in my 30 years some valuable things that I hope I'm able to remember for a lifetime and past along to my children.  Out of all these things learned there are two things that I hold on to and even have the joys of reminding the elders in my life {although the had the pleasure of teaching me}.  "Time heals all wounds"......what a big fat lie.  This is the famous statement dished to mourners, divorcees and scorn lovers.  Folks stop making this statement that should have died with mythological creatures.....it's not true!  Its not the time that does the healing but the information that you are able to learn within that time frame.  Now.....to all the mourners, divorcees and scorn lovers please remember that you must make great use to the time that God has given you beyond such tragic events in your life and learn to live beyond it, "Make a change, to receive a change" is my statement of reality.  "Love is not suppose to be this m...

Reflection technique...which will you chose??

I'm a facebook member that loves the fact I am able to keep in contact with not only old classmates but also my distant relatives.  I do sometimes find the posts to be 'painful'....yes painful.  Two out of five posts lately are about the way another person may see you and how you should not worry about it...yadda, yadda, yadda.  WTH?  With all the daily blessings we are granted including the ability to wake up and begin a day I find this to be upsetting.  Not that we aren't all judged because we are and it isn't always right but reputation is important on a certain level.  It appears these posts are becoming excessive and it is something to think about. There was a time in my own life that I could find fault with everyone.  My actions were always based on another person's actions or my failure was always based on the lack of another individuals actions.  Justification is what my mommy calls it and it is unacceptable i...

Mommy vs Employee

Days I'm reminded that only God's strength allow the job(s) to get done.  Well let us began with my morning.....I rise and began to follow the normal routine of preparing clothes, toothpaste on toothbrush and so forth.  Twins rise and I discover that one of them has a horrible looking rash all over is tummy and chest, upon further search it is also on his back.  Yes, I'm known to panic so I yell for Samah and his calm demeanor seemed to help me a little.  Of course the entire time I'm thinking I don't have anyone to keep him, I have a meeting today and a meeting to prepare for.  What is a MOMMY to do......stay home with her baby.  What is an EMPLOYEE to do.......go to work and preform the necessary tasks.  Jaire didn't seem bothered so I gave him benadryl and took him to daycare.  I explained to his teacher to phone me if he seemed the least bit bothered.  Of course I'm at work but really worried about my baby boy so I texted his teacher...
