Growth is the Best Option

Have you ever experienced moments that prove your growth and it still startles you?   I have been having such moments rather often lately and I can only giggle at myself.   I have prayed often that God will elevate my maturity in him as well as in the world.   On many occasions we are hurt, experience conflict or even hurt others because of our lack of maturity spiritually as well as emotionally.   I remember reaching a period in my personal life a couple years ago that I made a choice to seek God, praying that my heart will be renewed and my mind will be more understanding in God.   That I would not have such emotional unrealistic responses to things that I did not like or made me uncomfortable especially with regards to my personal relationships.   I asked to be emotionally intimate with my husband so that we may communicate on a different level to help us both grow both together as a couple, as parents and as individuals.   For me to also be emoti...

Morning Smiles

Over the last couple weeks I’ve encountered a number of individuals experiencing difficult moments.   During challenging moments in life it is extremely hard to take complete control of your emotional/mental self.   This is something that I find many people struggle with silently; I also find that some aren’t even aware of the struggle.   Well with me being such a planning, high strung individual most of my life of course my emotions run away from me every now and then…..Okay, Okay…..quite often.   Lol   Well in recent years I’ve become more faithful to true ‘Belief”, although I have found this to be a challenge I’m determined not to live depending upon the world or natural things to fulfill me yet reach higher.   Yes, I know too many individuals this sounds unreal but I’m here as living proof that it works.   I feel that God had a strategic plan for darkness and light.   Many do evil in darkness and darkness can be fearful.   We walk to o...

We have a teenager!!

Well in developing a business plan I made a huge decision to focus my business on wedding planning more than all other events.   I do however have a chance from time to time to plan birthday parties and I love it.   I’m sure to place extra focus on birthdays when the opportunity arise using the skills I’ve been taught and doing additional research to make things special for the guest of honor.   With that being said…..this time I had the opportunity to celebrate a huge milestone birthday in my personal family.   My oldest daughter turned 13 years of age……yes a teenager we now have!!   I think back to the moment I gave birth to her at the tender age of 18 years old not even imagining her 13 th birthday only wondering how I’m going to adjust to the quick change being a teenage single mother would bring.   I like many others decided to dive in head first soaking myself with all things baby, motherhood, parenting, safety and kid health.   I can honest...

Past on BYE.......

During a conversation with a really good friend of mine and a great testimony at church Sunday it occurred to me that many of us are afraid of succeeding or held back due to our ‘past’.   As a society we deal more on the past than the future which is a huge hindrance and can even hold us back from our destiny that was planned for us before we were conceived.   I find that it is important as a society that we no longer evaluate the worth of an individual based on their past yet more based on their present and potential.   We can assist in the pushing of someone into their destiny just as we have the ability to do the opposite.     It is just as important that we not be afraid to tell our own ‘past’ goodbye.   At what point of life is it okay to admit your transgressions and confess to your growth while not being fearful to step forward?   I always tell people that; “You cannot drive forward successfully while looking in the rearview mirror”...

No Morning Like an Aliyy Morning…….

Just imagine your hunny waking you in a panic as the entire house had overslept about 45 minutes.   Don’t think 45 minutes is much……oh you have never experienced a morning with the Aliyy’s.   Oh goodness; Jamir doesn’t have any clean underwear.   I went into a true panic at this point.   Of course you can’t wash any when you are already late so what’s the next best thing?   Put him on a pair of his twin’s undies that’s one size smaller than his.   Get shirts ironed and by chance or an act of God open the dryer to discover this child has two pair in the dryer.   Thank you God….I knew you loved me.   So the girls are dressed grabbed a breakfast snack and daddy got them out and headed to school.   Now leaving me solo with two year old twins and I’m in need of a shower.   What exactly does it mean when you say; sit right here boys and watch TV while mommy takes a quick shower.     It means the following: 1.   ...

Leaning into 2013....

As we have now entered into a new year I see the growth and change that has pushed me into this year.   2012 provided me with several learning experiences and many changes that I will take into 2013.   In 2012 my family said hello to a sister getting married {new brother in-law} as well as a mommy getting engaged…..we now look forward to the soon arrival of a new nephew bringing in 2013 with a BIG BANG!!   I see the maturity in my marriage in a year’s time.   My children have also all began new chapters as we enter into another year and it is great to see…..   2012…….   Raven has gone from an uncomfortable middle school freshman questioning her place to a straight ‘A’ 7 th grader taking a place in society.   An artistic mind with a fashion sense to kill….all while making her parents extremely proud.   We do encounter typical preteen and parenting conflicts but I have loved every day of being her mom and she makes me immensely prou...

Moments like these.......

Well the hubby and I survived an eventful Christmas with the 'Crew'. We were able to enjoy our holiday season with all '5' of our children and it was wonderful. I have a wonderful family and would not trade any of them nor the unique aspect each of them bring into our lives. Of course the children enjoyed the gift exchange and for the first year our 5 year old had an understanding of the purposes of the season and had a heart compelled to give. I provided her with funds to purchase gifts for her siblings at her school holiday store and she could not have been more excited to give. The moments like those are wonderful 'pats on the back' for a parent and bring joy to my heart. Watching my step-son play with his siblings and look back at me only to say, "I'm having a great time.....having so much fun". Those moments erase any doubt or confusion that co-parenting may bring on because when it is all said and done, it is about the joy of a child. ...
